Today, I feel like a winner: Kangna

Kangna Ranaut may be lying low since her last film Vaada Raha tanked. But the actress claims that this period in her career is just a “lull before the storm”. Apart from Rakesh Roshan’s ambitious venture, Kites, which is scheduled to release early next year, Kangna has four more films in the offing.

"I have finished shooting for Knockout and I am currently working on Once Upon a Time in Mumbai, No Problem and Tanu Weds Manu," says the actress.

The actress is extra pleased because each of these films is quite different from the other, which gives her enough scope to perform. “All these films are different and I can work a lot on my characters. My directors often give me the freedom to express my character the way I want to interpret it,” says Kangna, who forayed into films with the Anurag Basu film Gangster in 2006. And in just three years she is in an enviable position in the industry, thanks to her choice of films. The actress says she is proud of the fact that she is in a position to refuse offers in the industry.

When you are new in the industry, you are keen to make a foothold and end up doing whatever films come your way. Luckily for me, I got good films and they have all worked for me,says Kangna. That however, doesn’t mean that life has been a easy for her. “I got a lot of brickbats too, but that has made me tougher. I laugh at all those people who thought I was not good enough. It’s good to meet them now, look them in the eye and feel like I am a winner, she says.
